Embroidery gives a premium, long-lasting finish on polos, jackets and caps. Print (DTF, screen or vinyl) suits full-colour artwork, t-shirts, hoodies and hi-vis. If you choose "print", our team picks the best print method for your artwork.
Source: [/pages/logo-printing-embroidery](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/logo-printing-embroidery)

Yes, usually with DTF or vinyl. The logo must not reduce the visible area the garment needs for its class, and some manufacturers restrict embroidery, so we check hi-vis branding before production.

### Which brands are best for branding with a logo?

Source: [/pages/our-brands](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/our-brands)

### Which branding method is best for my logo?
It depends on your garment and your artwork. Embroidery gives a premium, long-lasting finish on polos, softshells, fleeces and caps. DTF printing suits colourful or detailed logos and works on almost any fabric, including hi-vis. Screen printing suits bold designs repeated across large runs of t-shirts and hoodies. Vinyl transfer suits names and simple one or two-colour logos. If you're unsure, ask our team and we'll recommend the best option.
Source: [/pages/application-methods](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/application-methods)

### Can I choose the exact print method?
If you select 'print' when you order, our team will choose the most suitable printing method (DTF, screen printing or vinyl transfer) based on your artwork and chosen products. If you have a preference, let us know and we'll advise whether it suits your design.
Source: [/pages/application-methods](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/application-methods)

### Can you embroider or print on hi-vis?
Yes, usually with DTF or vinyl. Printing or embroidering on certified hi-vis must not cover or reduce the reflective or fluorescent areas below what EN ISO 20471 needs, so the logo goes on the background material within the allowed area. Some manufacturers only allow embroidery with permission from their notified body, so we check hi-vis branding case by case.
Source: [/pages/application-methods](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/application-methods)

### Is there a minimum order?
Our website does not set a minimum order quantity, so you can brand a single garment for one new starter. For larger orders, talk to our team.
Source: [/pages/application-methods](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/application-methods)

### Where can I put my logo?
You can choose left chest, right chest, back, sleeve and cap front. Each position is charged at £3.99 per position per garment. Left chest is the classic spot for a company logo, and our team is happy to advise on placement and size.
Source: [/pages/application-methods](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/application-methods)

### How do I wash embroidered and printed workwear?
Wash inside out at the temperature on the garment label and don't iron directly over a logo. For DTF prints, wait at least 24 hours before the first wash, wash at up to 60°C, and avoid bleach and fabric softener. See our Workwear Care Guide.

If you're not comfortable doing that or have any questions, just contact us – our team is always happy to help. Once we have your logo, we’ll set it up for embroidery or printing, depending on your chosen method. As soon as the setup is approved, we’ll get your gear branded and ready to go.

If your file isn’t suitable, we’ll redraw it within the flat £9.99 setup fee, with no separate redraw charge – and we’ll always confirm this with you before proceeding. We want the best result for you and the brand you want to represent. ### What is the difference between nitrile, latex and vinyl gloves?
All three are disposable gloves, but they suit different jobs. Nitrile is a synthetic rubber: it is latex-free, stretchy and more puncture resistant than vinyl, and it copes better with oils and many chemical splashes, so it is the usual all-rounder for food prep, cleaning, workshops and care work. Latex is natural rubber and gives a very close, comfortable fit, but it can cause allergies, so many workplaces avoid it, and HSE advises that if latex is used it should be single-use, low-protein and powder-free. Vinyl is the lowest-cost and looser fitting, but it tears more easily and gives little chemical protection, so keep it for short, low-risk tasks such as light food handling. For chemicals or bodily fluids, look for EN ISO 374 marking, and note that medical examination gloves are tested to EN 455. For food, check for the glass-and-fork symbol. Shop disposable gloves.

### Is waterproof the same as water-resistant?
No. Water-resistant or shower-proof fabrics, such as most softshells, shed light rain and wind for a while but will eventually soak through. Waterproof garments resist sustained rain, usually with a membrane or coating and taped seams, and may carry an EN 343 rating. Choose by how long you're outside. Compare softshells and rainwear. Update: EN 343 has come off the GB and EU lists (replaced by EN ISO 24232:2025); garments certified to EN 343 still show it on the label. See https://www.theworkwearco.com/ai/standards.md.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How do I stay dry and not sweaty in a waterproof?
Choose a higher breathability class under EN 343, use vents and zips, wear a wicking base layer instead of cotton, and keep the jacket clean so the membrane works. Removable layers help as work rate changes. Browse Pulsar waterproofs and base layers. Update: EN 343 has come off the GB and EU lists (replaced by EN ISO 24232:2025); garments certified to EN 343 still show it on the label. See https://www.theworkwearco.com/ai/standards.md.

### Can we try sizes before ordering a branded batch?
Yes. Our terms mention a sample service on request to help get sizes right, and we can coordinate sizing for team rollouts. Because customised items can't be returned unless faulty, trying sizes first avoids costly mistakes. Email sales@theworkwearco.com or call (028) 90 749 719. See corporate and team orders.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How do I care for waterproof jackets?
Wash waterproofs with a technical cleaner rather than ordinary detergent, skip fabric softener, and rinse well, because residues and dirt clog the membrane and reduce breathability. When rain stops beading on the surface, restore it with a wash-in or spray-on reproofer, following the care label for drying. Clean, well-proofed jackets stay drier and last longer. Browse rainwear and rain jackets.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How do I wash embroidered or printed workwear?
Wash inside out at the temperature on the garment care label, avoid ironing directly on prints, and don't use bleach. Embroidery is very durable; prints last best with cooler washes. See polos and tees. Turning garments inside out and avoiding tumble drying on high heat helps prints and threads keep their colour for longer.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can sustainable garments be branded?
Yes. Organic cotton and recycled garments take embroidery and print just as well as conventional ones. If you want the whole product to carry a certification claim, ask us about the branding materials used. Browse Stanley/Stella and AWDis Ecologie. Many brands offer recycled embroidery threads too.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Should I choose embroidery or print?
Embroidery gives a premium, long-lasting finish on polos, fleeces, jackets and caps. Print suits large designs, fine detail and lightweight fabrics. We offer embroidery, DTF printing, screen printing and vinyl transfer in-house. If you choose 'print' online, our team picks the best print method for your artwork and garment. See application methods and our customisation prices.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What is DTF printing?
DTF (direct-to-film) printing transfers your design from film to fabric using heat and pressure. It gives sharp, full-colour results, works on almost any fabric including hi-vis and technical garments, and is a great choice for small to medium runs with a quick turnaround. It's one of our in-house methods. See application methods or browse t-shirts.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What is heat transfer printing?
Heat transfers apply a printed or cut design with heat and pressure. In-house we offer vinyl transfer, which suits hi-vis garments, team names and low-colour logos in smaller quantities, and DTF, which handles full-colour designs on most fabrics, including hi-vis and technical garments. Both avoid needle holes in waterproofs. See application methods and hi-vis jackets.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What logo file format do you need?
Vector AI or EPS files are best because they stay sharp at any size; PDFs are fine if created from vector artwork. We also accept high-resolution JPG, BMP and TIF files if clear and sharp. Bitmap TIF or PSD files should be at print size and at least 300 dpi. If your file isn't usable, we can redraw it, always with your approval first; this is covered by our flat £9.99 logo setup fee, with no separate redraw charge. See our artwork guidelines.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can you embroider a logo from a JPEG?
Usually, yes, if the JPEG is high-resolution, clear and sharp. Every new embroidery logo needs a one-off setup to convert it into a stitch file, however good the artwork, and this is a flat £9.99 logo setup fee. If the image is too blurry to use, we can redraw it within that same fee, and we'll always ask before starting. See our artwork guidelines and customisation prices.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Is there a minimum order for branding?
Our website doesn't state a minimum order quantity. We serve individuals as well as companies with thousands of staff, and say we never neglect smaller jobs, such as kitting out one new starter. For specifics on your quantities, email sales@theworkwearco.com, call (028) 90 749 719, or use our contact page. Browse team kit bundles.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Are there setup costs for branding?
Yes, a one-off logo setup fee applies on your first branded order to convert your logo for embroidery or print. It's a flat £9.99, whether your logo needs digitising or redrawing. It's charged once per logo, not per position. Once your logo is on file, you won't be charged again for the same design. Application is then £3.99 per position, per garment. There is no setup fee on text logos: build a text logo in the branding step and pay just £3.99 per position, with no £9.99 setup fee. You'll get a proof before production. See our customisation prices and artwork guidelines.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How long does branding take?
Our standard lead time for branded orders is 7–10 working days, and plain items take 2–4 working days, before delivery. If you have a deadline, contact us as early as possible: in many cases we can accommodate urgent requests. Call (028) 90 749 719 or see our delivery page. Browse team kit bundles.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Where can a logo be placed?
Popular positions include left chest, right chest, full back, upper back, sleeve and cap front, and you can add multiple logos to one garment. When ordering online, you choose the position, method and upload your logo, with space for notes. Our in-house branding team can advise on the best placements and sizes. See application methods and browse polos and tees.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Where should logos go on hi-vis?
Logos usually go on the left chest or across the back, positioned clear of reflective tape. They must not cover tape or reduce the visible fluorescent area below the garment's class minimum, as EN ISO 20471 states logos can't compromise minimum areas. Many hi-vis vests have a dedicated ID panel. We'll recommend safe positions. Browse hi-vis vests.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can embroidery go on waterproof jackets?
It can, but there's a trade-off. Embroidery needles pierce the outer fabric and waterproof membrane, which can let water through at the logo, unless the garment has an embroidery access zip or seam-sealed panel. For fully waterproof performance, a heat transfer is often the better choice. We'll advise per garment. Browse rain jackets.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Will you send a proof before production?
Yes. Our customisation prices page confirms that before production begins you'll receive a proof for approval, so you can check your branding appears exactly as intended. Check names, spellings, sizes and placement carefully, because customised items can't be returned unless faulty. See customisation prices and our returns page.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can I reorder branded workwear later?
Yes. Once your logo is on file there's no further setup charge for the same design, and you can reorder previous orders when logged in to your account. Corporate customers can use our B2B Shop with pre-approved garments and logos. See customisation prices and corporate and team orders.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Which garments are best for branding?
Polo shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, fleeces and softshells are the most popular choices because they have smooth panels that take embroidery or print well and suit most roles. Organic and recycled ranges, such as Stanley/Stella, are popular with sustainability-minded brands. Browse polos and tees, hoodies and sweatshirts and Stanley/Stella.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Is embroidery or print more durable?
Embroidery is generally the most durable option because the design is stitched into the fabric and won't crack or peel, making it ideal for workwear washed frequently. Quality prints and transfers also last well when washed inside out at the recommended temperature. We'll advise per garment and logo. Browse polo shirts and fleeces.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How big should a left chest logo be?
Most UK workwear decorators recommend a left chest logo about 8–10 cm wide. Below roughly 6 cm, fine detail is lost; much larger and it starts to look like a print rather than a badge. Very wide logos can wrap towards the armpit on smaller sizes. We'll suggest a size on your proof. Browse polo shirts.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What size should a back logo be?
Large back designs are typically 25–30 cm wide, while an upper-back position between the shoulders is often around 20–25 cm. Back designs usually suit print or transfer rather than embroidery because of the stitch volume. On hi-vis, keep clear of tape. Browse hoodies and hi-vis jackets.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How big can a logo be on a cap or beanie?
Cap fronts usually take a logo around 5–7 cm wide, and beanies around 6–7 cm, because the curved, structured panel limits space. Simple, bold designs work best. Very small text needs extra care on knits. Browse hats, Flexfit and Beechfield.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What's the smallest text that can be embroidered?
Decorators generally advise keeping embroidered text at least 4–5 mm tall for simple block fonts, and around 6 mm for serif or script fonts. Smaller lettering blurs or fills in. Web addresses and straplines often need enlarging or printing instead. We'll flag any issues on your proof. Browse polo shirts.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What makes a logo work well for embroidery?
Bold shapes, clear lettering, strong contrast, and two to six flat colours stitch best. Gradients, drop shadows, hairline strokes and photographic detail don't translate into thread, so a good digitiser will simplify them. Having a one-colour version for dark fabrics helps. Browse fleeces and softshells.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How should I prepare my logo file?
Send vector AI or EPS artwork, use Pantone spot colours, and convert fonts to outlines so text stays exactly as designed. Bitmap TIF or PSD files should be at actual print size or larger, at least 300 dpi, with each colour on a separate layer. Don't save a bitmap as AI, EPS or PDF; it will still need redrawing, which is covered by the flat £9.99 logo setup fee and only done with your approval. See our artwork guidelines.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What is stitch count and why does it matter?
Stitch count is the number of stitches in a design, driven by coverage and density: a simple text logo may need under 2,000 stitches, a dense crest over 15,000. Many decorators price by it, but our site states a single rate per method with no extra charge for colours, logo size or complexity, from £3.99 + VAT. See customisation prices.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can you match Pantone colours in embroidery?
Closely, but not always exactly. Embroidery thread comes in a fixed range of shades, so the nearest match to your Pantone reference is chosen. Print can usually get closer. If exact colour is critical, ask for a sample stitch-out before production. Contact us for a quote. Browse polos and tees.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Will my logo look different on different garment colours?
Yes. The garment colour behind and around a logo changes how it looks, and some elements can disappear, such as white detail on a white polo. A reversed or one-colour version of your logo often works better on dark or brightly coloured garments, including hi-vis. We'll show this on your proof. Browse polo shirts.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How many colours can an embroidered logo have?
Most embroidered logos use two to six thread colours, and many machines can handle more, though very colourful designs may need simplifying. More colours don't always add impact at chest size. If your logo has gradients, a print or DTF method may reproduce it better. Contact us for a quote. Browse polo shirts.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can I mix embroidery and print on one garment?
Yes, and it's common. A neat embroidered chest logo with a larger printed back design, name or web address gives a premium look with practical visibility. Each position is quoted separately. Browse softshells, hoodies and sweatshirts and t-shirts. We'll suggest the best method for each position.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Is print suitable for polyester sports tops?
Usually, yes. Polyester performance fabrics tend to take print and transfers well, and print keeps lightweight technical tops light and flexible, whereas dense embroidery can feel heavy. Some heat-sensitive fabrics need special care, so we'll check each garment. Browse TriDri and AWDis Just Cool.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Should I brand a cotton polo with print or embroidery?
Embroidery usually suits a cotton piqué polo best because the knitted texture can make fine print look uneven over time. Embroidery also gives the polished look most businesses want on polos. Print can work for larger or multicolour designs. Browse polo shirts and Portwest polos.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### How do I wash a branded hoodie so it lasts?
Turn it inside out, wash at the temperature on the care label, avoid bleach and fabric softener, and air dry or tumble on low if allowed. Never iron directly over a print; iron on the reverse instead. Embroidery generally lasts as long as the garment. Browse hoodies and hoodies and sweatshirts.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can bags be embroidered or printed?
Yes. Tote bags often suit print on their flat panels, while rucksacks, holdalls and cool bags are often embroidered on a front panel or pocket. Some bags have limited branding areas because of zips and seams, so we'll confirm the maximum logo size. Contact us for a quote. Browse Bagbase, Westford Mill and bags and cases.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can I put different names on each garment in one order?
Yes. Personalising each garment with a different name is common for care teams, clubs and leavers' hoodies. Send a spreadsheet listing each name, garment, colour and size so everything matches. Check spellings carefully because personalised items can't be returned unless faulty. Contact us for a quote. Browse team kit bundles.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Do I need my logo on every item?
Not necessarily. Many businesses brand outer layers and customer-facing items, such as polos, softshells and jackets, and leave base layers or trousers plain. Branding high-visibility items gives the most exposure. Discuss priorities and budget with us when you ask for a quote. Browse softshells.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can I see a sample before a big branded order?
Our terms say we offer a sample service on request to help with sizing, and every branded order gets a proof before production. For a pre-production sample of your branding, ask our sales team on sales@theworkwearco.com or (028) 90 749 719. See our terms and conditions and contact page.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can I order unbranded items?
Yes. When you add a product to your basket you can choose to add your logo or simply continue to checkout plain. Plain items arrive in 2–4 working days, and unbranded items can be returned within 28 days if unworn. See our delivery page or browse clothing. Delivery times and charges: [Delivery](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/delivery).
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can you embroider names on healthcare tunics?
Yes. Names and job titles embroidered or printed on tunics help patients and families know who's caring for them. Send a list of names with sizes so each garment is personalised correctly. Personalised items can't be returned for size, so check sizes first. Contact us for a quote. Browse tunics.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can you print 'SECURITY' or 'STAFF' on garments?
Yes. Large, clear back prints and smaller chest text help people identify staff quickly at events, venues and sites. On hi-vis, text must not reduce the visible area below the class minimum. Contact us for a quote. Browse hi-vis vests and t-shirts.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### What are good branded gifts for staff or clients?
Branded towels, bags, caps, beanies and premium softshells or fleeces make useful gifts that keep your logo visible. Choose quality items people will actually use. Browse gifts and accessories, towels and robes and hats. Embroidery gives gifts a premium feel that lasts.

### Do you sell branded golf and premium polos?
Yes. Premium brands such as Nike, adidas, Under Armour and Callaway suit corporate golf days, client events and senior teams, and can be embroidered with your logo. Browse Nike, adidas, Under Armour and Callaway. Check the brand's own rules on adding logos to its garments before you order.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Can you add our crest, names, numbers and sponsor logos?
Yes. Crests and sponsor logos can be embroidered or printed. Names, numbers and initials are added as text. You will see a proof before anything goes into production. See Artwork Guidelines for the best file types.
Source: [/pages/help](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/help)

### Does a logo affect the class?
It can. Logos cover fluorescent area, and large prints can drop a garment a class. We can advise on size and position before you order.
Source: [/pages/hi-vis-class-1-vs-2-vs-3](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/hi-vis-class-1-vs-2-vs-3)

### Can we put our logo on hi-vis?
Yes, with care. The HSA says logos or text should not cover the fluorescent background so much that it falls below the minimum area for the class. See logo printing and embroidery.

### How long do branded hospitality uniforms take?
Plain items dispatch in 2–4 working days. Branded orders take 7–10 working days. If you have an opening date, tell us early and we will plan around it.

### Are PU gloves waterproof?
No. A PU palm coating is thin and breathable. It is not designed to keep water or chemicals out.

### Can you put our logo on Portwest and Snickers?
Yes. We embroider and print both. See our logo printing and embroidery page.

### Is an S3 boot waterproof?
S3 means the upper resists water penetration and absorption (WPA). It does not mean the whole boot is waterproof. For that, look for S7, or the WR code.
Source: [/pages/s1p-vs-s3-safety-boots](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/s1p-vs-s3-safety-boots)

### Can I wear a fleece under a waterproof?
Yes, it is a common and flexible combination. Choose a breathable shell if you will be working hard.
Source: [/pages/softshell-vs-fleece-vs-waterproof](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/softshell-vs-fleece-vs-waterproof)

### How do I keep my waterproof working?
Wash it as the label says, avoid fabric softener and re-proof when water stops beading. See our care guide.

### Do you sell waterproof hi-vis for river and marine work?
Yes. We stock hi-vis rainwear and EN 343 waterproofs. Some site rules require extra kit, such as lifejackets, so check your contractor's rules. Update: EN 343 has come off the GB and EU lists (replaced by EN ISO 24232:2025); garments certified to EN 343 still show it on the label. See https://www.theworkwearco.com/ai/standards.md.

### Is S3 footwear waterproof?
S3 means the upper resists water, but the whole boot hasn't necessarily been tested in water. If you stand in water or wet grass for long periods, look for WR or the S7 class, which is S3 with a whole-footwear water resistance test.
Source: [/collections/s3-safety-footwear](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/s3-safety-footwear)

### Are cold insulated boots waterproof?
Not necessarily. CI covers the sole only. For wet winter work, look for WR or S7 as well as CI, as wet feet lose heat much faster.
Source: [/collections/cold-insulated-safety-footwear](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/cold-insulated-safety-footwear)

### Do waterproof boots still breathe?
Many use a breathable membrane that lets sweat vapour out while keeping water out. Breathability is never as high as a boot without a membrane, so a moisture-wicking sock helps.
Source: [/collections/waterproof-safety-footwear](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/waterproof-safety-footwear)

### Nitrile, vinyl or latex for food?
Nitrile is strong and resists fats and oils, so it suits meat, fish and dairy. Vinyl is fine for short, light tasks. Latex can cause allergic reactions, so many caterers avoid it. Some materials aren't suited to fatty foods, so check the food contact information.
Source: [/collections/gloves-food-safe](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/gloves-food-safe)

### What's the difference between nitrile, latex and vinyl disposable gloves?
Nitrile is strong, puncture resistant and resists oils and many chemicals, so it's the most popular all-rounder. Latex is stretchy and comfortable but can cause allergies. Vinyl is looser fitting and suits short, light tasks.
Source: [/collections/disposable-gloves](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/disposable-gloves)

### Is a hi-vis jacket waterproof?
Only if it's tested to EN 343. The first number shows water penetration resistance and the second breathability, both on a scale of 1 to 4 (or 1 to 3 in older versions). A hi-vis softshell or fleece is not usually waterproof. Update: EN 343 has come off the GB and EU lists (replaced by EN ISO 24232:2025); garments certified to EN 343 still show it on the label. See https://www.theworkwearco.com/ai/standards.md.
Source: [/collections/hi-vis-jackets](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/hi-vis-jackets)

### Can you put our logo on a hi-vis jacket?
Yes. We place logos so they don't cover the fluorescent or reflective areas, which keeps the certified area intact. The best spots are usually the chest panel or back above the tape.
Source: [/collections/hi-vis-jackets](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/hi-vis-jackets)

### Are there waterproof hi-vis trousers?
Yes. Look for EN 343 on the product page, which shows tested water resistance and breathability. Overtrousers are a good option for wearing over work trousers in the rain. Update: EN 343 has come off the GB and EU lists (replaced by EN ISO 24232:2025); garments certified to EN 343 still show it on the label. See https://www.theworkwearco.com/ai/standards.md.
Source: [/collections/hi-vis-trousers](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/hi-vis-trousers)

### Can you print our company name on a hi-vis vest?
Yes, and it's one of the most common hi-vis jobs we do. We keep the print clear of the reflective tape, so the vest keeps its certified area.
Source: [/collections/hi-vis-vests-and-tabards](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/hi-vis-vests-and-tabards)

### Can you add a logo to rail hi-vis?
Yes. Logos must not cover the fluorescent or reflective areas, and some sponsors have rules on where company names go. We'll place the logo clear of the tape. Tell us if your client has specific branding rules.
Source: [/collections/clothing-ris-3279-tom-orange](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/clothing-ris-3279-tom-orange)

### Can you add our logo to jackets and coats?
Yes. Embroidery is the most popular choice on jackets, usually on the left chest, with a larger logo on the back. Waterproof jackets with taped seams are often printed rather than stitched to keep them waterproof. See our [artwork guidelines](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/artwork-guidelines).
Source: [/collections/outerwear](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/outerwear)

### How do I wash waterproof outerwear?
Use a non-biological liquid detergent or a technical wash, skip fabric softener, and re-proof the outer when water stops beading. Softener and powder clog membranes and reduce breathability. Our [workwear care guide](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/guides/caring-for-workwear) has more.
Source: [/collections/outerwear](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/outerwear)

### Is embroidery or print better on a polo?
Embroidery is the classic choice for a polo's left chest and lasts very well. Print works well on T-shirts and for large or detailed designs. Very thin performance fabrics can pucker with heavy embroidery, so we may suggest print or a lighter design.
Source: [/collections/polos-and-tees](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/polos-and-tees)

### Which hats can you add a logo to?
Most of our caps, beanies and bucket hats can be embroidered. The logo area on a hat is small, so simple, bold designs with little fine text stitch best. See our [artwork guidelines](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/artwork-guidelines).
Source: [/collections/hats](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/hats)

### Which caps are best for embroidery?
Structured caps with a firm front panel give a clean, raised embroidered logo. Unstructured caps are softer and more relaxed, and suit smaller logos. See our [artwork guidelines](https://www.theworkwearco.com/pages/artwork-guidelines).
Source: [/collections/caps](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/caps)

### Can beanies be embroidered?
Yes. Most beanies are embroidered on the front or on a turned-up cuff. Keep designs simple and bold, as knitted fabric doesn't hold fine detail.
Source: [/collections/beanies](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/beanies)

### Can you embroider or print on sweatshirts?
Yes. Embroidery on the left chest is the most popular choice, and print suits larger back designs. We'll send a proof first.
Source: [/collections/sweatshirts](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/sweatshirts)

### Where can a logo go on a hoodie?
Left chest, centre chest, back and sleeves are the usual spots. Zip hoodies are usually branded on the left chest or back, not across the zip.
Source: [/collections/hoodies](https://www.theworkwearco.com/collections/hoodies)

### Are softshell jackets waterproof?
Most are water resistant rather than waterproof. They shed light rain and wind but aren't usually seam sealed or tested to EN 343. For heavy rain, choose a waterproof shell. Update: EN 343 has come off the GB and EU lists (replaced by EN ISO 24232:2025); garments certified to EN 343 still show it on the label. See https://www.theworkwearco.com/ai/standards.md.
