SHOWA is a Japanese glove maker based in Himeji. It was founded in 1954 by Akeo Tanaka, who had developed the first PVC glove. SHOWA makes its gloves from start to finish, including its own machinery, yarns, coatings and hand formers.

SHOWA launched the first PU palm-coated glove and, in 1992, Best N-DEX, the first 100% nitrile latex-free glove. Its range covers general handling, cut, chemical, heat and cold, single-use, anti-static and impact protection.
