Customisation

Artwork Guidelines

To make sure your order is completed smoothly, without extra charges or delays, please follow the artwork guidelines below.

If your artwork is not in the right format for customisation, we can redraw it for you. This service costs £25.00, but we'll always let you know and get your approval before starting.

Preferred file types – vector AI & EPS

The best file formats are Vector Illustrator (AI) and EPS.

  • Vectors keep their quality no matter how much you zoom in – edges stay sharp and clean.
  • Bitmap images (like JPGs) will look blocky or blurry when zoomed in. Please don't save a bitmap image as an AI or EPS file – it will still be unusable and may need to be redrawn (with a fee).

Pantone spot colours

  • Please use Pantone spot colours in your artwork.
  • In design software (like Illustrator), colours can be converted to Pantone shades.
  • This is important because when screen-printing, each colour is printed separately. Having colour-separated files makes the process faster and more accurate.

Fonts (text) – convert to outlines/paths

  • If your design includes text, make sure the fonts are converted to paths (outlines/curves).
  • This prevents font issues. If we don't have your font installed, your design could look different. Converting text to paths ensures it stays exactly as you created it.

Bitmap files – TIF & PSD

  • If you send bitmap files (like TIF or PSD), they must be at actual print size or larger and at least 300dpi.
  • Each colour should be placed on a separate layer.
  • This is not our preferred method and may involve extra charges if editing is required. Not suitable for CAD Cut.

PDF files

  • PDFs are fine as long as they are created from vector artwork and remain editable.
  • Don't save a bitmap image as a PDF – it will still be a bitmap and may need redrawing.

Accepted file types & embroidery fees

We accept high-resolution JPG, BMP, TIF, EPS, and AI files, provided the quality is clear and sharp. For first-time embroidery orders, there is a one-time £9.99 setup fee to convert logos or graphics into embroidery format (digitising). Once digitised, your design will be stored on file for all future orders. Text-only embroidery has the same flat £9.99 set-up fee.
